I don't know if it would be possible or even advisable, but perhaps the Tatoeba Project needs some method to indicate which of multiple alternative translations would be best for language learners to focus on, or learn first.

Perhaps we could have someone look into disabling the stemming search function for certain languages. That way it wouldn't appear to be a bug for people who don't know about the = function.

Cabo, perhaps you could create a page similar to the following for people studying Hungarian.

These have all forms of the verbs in the search, so even irregular verbs that get missed by tatoeba.org's regular "fuzzy" (stemming) searches will be found.

Tatoeba's search does OK for regular English verbs, but not irregular verbs.

Perhaps rather than even having the "latest contributions" showing on the landing page, give members a set of customized links that they could choose from, depending on their mood that day.

Maybe, something similar to what's in the left-hand column of this page.
