I'm a language lover, not a professional translator. My username ("professional" in Hebrew) was based on the fact that this account only translates into my native language from other languages, as a professional does.

Political translations are not necessarily my opinion. I have an opinion, but this is a linguistic corpus and language learning tool, so it's important to translate a variety of opinions so people know what they're encountering in the language they're learning. I don't plan to contribute original political sentences, but if I do so absentmindedly, they may or may not be my opinion as well.

I believe it is important for Tatoeba, as a teaching tool, to represent all political ideologies, so that someone who encounters political text can look it up here and find corresponding translations. Keeping certain ideologies out would limit the usefulness of Tatoeba as a learning and teaching tool - as a left-winger, for example, it's important for me to be able to know when I'm encountering right-wing language and what it means. There are reasonable limits on political sentences, of course; I don't dispute that, and am trying to self-limit accordingly. I do believe there is a need to curb hate speech and needlessly inflammatory, provocative, or abusive text.
