Could I get a check on how well this matches the Japanese?
This does mean “Not all people are evil demons[1]”.
[1] Well, technically cherti (singular чёрт chort). Usually chort means but one of devil’s servants, a human-like creature with horns, tail and hooves. Cherti usually are inclined to do harm, and seek to tempt people into selling their soul to devil. But they can overreached and tricked into doing something good, as many the fairy tales tell.
(Wikipedia’s article seems to describe an earlier understanding of chort... Well, I don’t really like it.)
> This does mean “Not all people are evil demons[1]”.
It doesn't match the Japanese then.
