「好かない」ってあまり使わない気がするのですがいかがでしょうか?
個人的には「エメットはその女性を嫌っている」などと訳す方が自然ではないかと思います。
方言で「好かん」とは言いますけどね。
How about deleting it and creating a new one that has the name as エメッと or Emet in proper romaji?
好かない is rare indeed. But a Google search yields 88,200 hits for "女性を好かない", so I'm guessing that a number of native speakers would consider it valid.
Oh, that is very helpful! I'll be sure to use that in the future as well.
I see that 200 hits are gone when -emet is added.
As for the usage itself,
"昔から女性を好かない性質"
"男は自分より学歴が上の女性を好かない"
There's definitely nothing like "I don't like Mary" -> メアリーを少ない. It appears to be somewhat of a set phrase meaning 'to like women'. So referring to a specific woman in this case, is probably really odd.
I say delete it.
At first glance, Google gives 80 000+ hits...
but when I click "repeat the search with the omitted results included" on page two, Google reports just 14 hits..
Any idea what this is about?
"女性が好きじゃない" about 23,100,000 results
Going to the last page,
it is changed to 326 results.
So, in this case, the estimate is actually about 70 000 higher than the actual number of references that Google.com has catalogued? If so, they should not even display such an estimate. I have been using the estimate a lot and relying on it as a source. I have also in the past seen people use Google.com in this way.
