I identify myself both as a scientist and a scholar, and spend most of my time studying mathematics, languages/cultures, and history. My interest in languages comes from my opinion that learning a language is the best way to access and understand a new culture and is perhaps one of the best acts of diplomacy there is. These 2-3 years (starting with 2014), I plan to reside in China's Xinjiang region while studying both Uyghur and Mandarin.

Je parle également le français, ayant passé quatre ans en Suisse romande durant mes études de doctorat. C'est loin d'être parfait, mais j'arrive à me debrouiller.
